*** ATTENTION ALL SEAMANS RESEARCHERS **

OK, I am probably opening a can of worms, but here it goes....

In researching another part of my tree, I ran across a group on a ROOTSWEB list that was talking about publishing their next edition of their surname genealogy. This got me thinking <think, think, think, think... as Pooh bear would say>....

For some time, I have wondered about the Seamans Genealogy (The Seamans Family in America as descended from Thomas Seamans of Swansea, Massachussetts 1687) and if there would ever be a second publishing of this book along with corrections & editions. I would love to see a new edition published and would like to get a feeling from any other Seamans family researchers out there.

If I get enough positive replies, then the possibility remains of revising what exists of the Seamans family genealogy & publishing an updated version.

So, I ask all Seamans researchers to reply on how they feel about a new revision to the Seamans genealogy and we shall see how things go from there.... I will also post a copy of this message to other major Genealogy lists (such as FamilyHistory.com) to get the word out & get an idea of how much support we have for a project like this...

Mark, I know that you have a large database of the Seamans family mostly based from the Seamans genealogy book, so would you be interested in a project like this? Also, since you are related to the original compilers of the Seamans family genealogy, you would be of great help when it comes to copyright info, since we would probably have to consult with descendants of the original compilers to obtain permission to publish a second edition.

Thanks for all of your attention....

Michael Seamans
