Joann,
Like you i believe that our J.Simmons is the beginning of this family. I truely think that your Jonathan(Buck) is a grandson of his. I think that on the 1850 census the J.Simmons with the Family a couple houses back belongs to the J. Simmons that is Lafayette's Father and would be your Jonathan (Buck) Father,Or in the 1830 Ala. census he indicates a male child between the age of 10-15. Could this be YOUR John's father?
You said that your John married in March of 1847 Yalobusha. Are they in the census in 1850?
I would like to see the info you have on Everett Marcus and the land from the Strong family. Also iif you have marriage papers on Lafayette and Laura. Hope to hear from you soon. Barbara Seamans Mitchum
