update for Jonathan S. Seamans/Simmons-Jackson/Noel

I do not know what I have told you about our latest searches and finds, so I will update.
I will begin with speculations for you to consider, Let me know what you think.
Jonathan Seamons b. 1792 SC married Elizabeth Sparkman.

In 1825 Jonathan Simmons age 33 married Sally Woodall In Jefferson Co. Ala. (this would make him the same age as #1

Jonathan Simmons appears in Jefferson Co Alabama in Census He has a son between 10 and 15 years old (Had to have been by a previous marriage, poss Elizabeth Sparkman)? He was still in Jefferson Co in 1838. We found land transactions that he wittnessed.
By 1840 Jonathan Simmons appears in Yalobusha Co. MS. The children listed match the children for Jonathan in Jefferson Co. There is a second Jonathan in Yalobusha 1840, different households. We found a land transaction that shows Jonathan Seamans Sr. selling land to son-in-law Levi Hilburn and Jonathan Seamans Jr. He is still listed in the Yalobusha census 1841-1845.
In 1850 J.Simmons is listed in the Yalobusha Co. census. This J. was born in SC in 1792. At this time he is 57 and married to Sarah with children Mariana 20, Dudley 17, Elizabeth 14, Joshua 12, Lafayette 10 (this means he was b. as was the La. Lafayette in 1840 MS. and would be at least a 1/2 brother to Jonathan and Canzada), Zacheriah 8, and Allen 3.
I think that it is possible that this is the same Jonathan from Ala. who is married to his third wife. His age matches everywhere.
In 1850 living next door to J. is Jno and his wife Elizabeth (who was a Woodall). With one child Granville. He is 23, and was b. in Alabama. This is my Ggrandfather and ggrandmother. Other of their children besides my ggrand were Canzada b. 1851, Margret Ann b. 1852, William b 1855, John b. 1856. You can find them in the 1860 Yalobusha co. census. Jonathan died between 1856 and 1859 because Elizabeth Woodall Simmons married James S. Bolding in 1859 in Yal. Co. James was a son of Marvell. The way that this was proven was land records showing that my grandfather and his siblings sold land in West Carroll Parish La. to William Roland Bolding. Land that they had inherited from their grandmother Elizabeth Seamans Bolding nee Woodall. Interesting name connections are My ggrandfather Jonathan Silas had a child named Silas who had a child that he named Dudley. I have lots of info on Lafayette but I can't remember what I have told you.
Let me know what you think.
Jo Ann
