I believe that your Lydia Seamans, born 1824, was the daughter of David Seamans and Mary Potter. This Lydia had 8 brothers and sisters including a brother named Israel who lived in Academy Corners (a village about a mile and a half east of Knoxville), Tioga Co., PA in 1899 (Deerfield Twp. Directory). David and Mary (Potter) Seamans were born in Rhode Island and they removed to Tioga Co. (primarily Deerfield and Chatham Twps.) between 1822 and 1829. It was not clear where Lydia was born. Her older siblings were born in RI and her younger ones were born in PA. Perhaps she was born in NY during the trip to their new home in PA. I do not know whom she married. However, the 1880 US Census (LDS) for Liberty, McKean Co., PA lists a John Abby, age 63, b. NY and his wife "Liddy" P. Abby, age 56, b. NY, parents born in RI. Hope this helps.
