Frederick Seamans ca 1828 Germany

I'm trying to find information about the Frederick Seamans family who lived in Monmouth Co., NJ on the 1860 and 1870 census.

Frederick married Mary who was born ca 1832 in LA. Their children were:
Mary E ca 1853 NJ
Charles W ca 1855 NJ
John Henry ca 1858 NJ
Melissa ca 1860 NJ
Frederick ca 1853 NJ

I've not been able to find them since the 1870 census in Ocean Twp., Monmouth Co., NJ. I think possibly they moved to NY, I think I found at least two of the sons, Henry and Frederick living with different families. Don't know that for sure, because they say they were born in NY as well as their parents.

Does anyone know of this family and what might have happened to them. I'm trying to find out who Frederick the father married. Mary was from LA on at least one cenus. I'm trying to find another woman in Wonmouth Co., NJ also born in LA and married in NJ. She and Mary were only a couple of years apart.

Hopefully I'll be able to find out who Frederick married and maybe his wife was a sister the the woman I'm trying to find.

Thanks for your help.
