Recent DNA tests results verify that descendants of Johathan Seamands and Jesse Seamands (sons of Ephraim Seamands and Mary (not Pugh but the widow of John Pugh) have a greater than 90% probability that they have a common ancestor 8-10 generations back. This would mean that the ancestors of Jonathan Seamands who applied and received a Revolutionary War Pension and moved to Tennessee and Jesse Simmons who settled in Stokes County NC and who's son Bell moved to Missouri are related.
