Marie,
Positive known children of Thomas and Lois include:William C., Lucy, Fanny, Electa and Calvin. The last four were mentioned in his Rev. War. pension file, and William C. was an older son born about 1782.William is buried with Thomas and Lois in Whitehall NY (Brick Church graveyard) along with his wife Polly Billings Searls. These are most likely not all the children of Thomas and Lois according to census records. There is another male child born between 1790 and 1800, and numerous female children born between their marriage in 1781 and 1800.Another daughter is probably Rachel Searls (Sarles) who married Jeriah Searls and moved to Franklinville NY.If your Hiram is the one I am thinking of, I had been told he was a son of Thomas, who was a son of William C. (above)...but this was only from a biography I found on Nathan B. Searls (another son of William C.)combined with census records. With what you told me regarding the dates of Hiram's father Thomas...now I am not sure.I do know that we are doing a lot of research on Thomas/Lois and all the Searles that lived in the Granville/Whitehall/Hampton/Salem area of NY as well as Arlington VT and hope to piece all these families together. What is your line to Hiram Searles?Anything you can add will be appreciated, and I will notify you if we find anything on Thomas.
