There is some confusion at the moment. Seath in Fife is a corruption of the Gaelic name Shaw (meaning the wolf)

The Seath family in Kent may have originated in Fife and moved for employment in the coal mines proir to the colliery emancipation act of 1799 when miners were boded servants and could be sold from one mine to another.

I am at present looking into the Kent side of the family as I am conducting a one-name study

If you have any information I would be happy to carry out further investigations to try to connect them

Although I dont have much info at this time I really need to look into the Kent connection and this would be as good a time as any.

Happy Hunting
