Ronald, I am also looking into this line. I just started, so I don't know much about them.

I suspect that John William was married before being married Addie, but as yet I have no proof. Just a hunch. I think he had 2 children, named Edward Lafitte and Betty with this first wife. Edward Lafitte, I think was named for John's brother (twin?) who died at 5 years old. Betty, named for his mother.

Edward Lafitte Sebastian is my husband's grandfather. Edward said his mother died when he was about 5, and he went to live with his grandmother (maternal, I believe). His father remarried a woman named Addie and they had several children.

John William's wife, Addie, is the only Addie Sebastian I can find in either Louisiana or Texas in this time frame.

Any thoughts? Am I crazy?
