I live in New Zealand and my paternal grandmother's maiden name was Maud Secord. Through family oral history we know that she was related to Laura (Ingersoll) Secord and I am trying to trace back my family tree to see where the link is.
I have traced a lot of info on James & Laura Secord's children but can't find anything much about Charles and his descendants as I am wondering if my grandmother came through his line.
I know that the family came to New Zealand from Canada and that they settled in Akaroa in the South Island of New Zealand and then at some stage someone moved to the North Island as Maud was born around 1890 in Wellington.
Does anyone have any info about some of the Secord family who emigrated from Canada to New Zealand?
It would be great to hear from anyone who may be able to fill in some gaps for me.
