James Secord/Seacord (B- about 1829 in London, Ontario, Canada D-About 1859 in Mt Vernon, Knox County, OH)and Mary Ann Martin (B-About 1812 in England D-Apr 13, 1876 in Mt Vernon, Knox, OH)were married in London, Ontario, Canada about 1848/1849. Mary Ann was born in England, married a Mr Martin there and had two children; William Martin and Samuel Martin. After Mr Martin passed away in London, England, she and the two boys moved to London, Ontario, Canada where she met James Secord. This second marriage produced three more children all born in London, Ontario, Canada. They are; Sarah Anna Secord (B-Oct 8, 1850 - D-May 24, 1932 in Knox County, OH), Walter J. Secord (B-Feb 2, 1854 - D-May 3, 1936 in St. Louis, MO), and Fredrick John Secord (B-May 16, 1855 - D-May 26, 1895 in Gambier, Knox County, OH). The Secord family moved to the Mt Vernon, Knox County, OH area shortly after the birth of Fredrick Secord on May 16, 1855. After the death of James Secord about 1859, his widow; Mary Ann Secord married Henry Charmin/Chapman on January 1, 1861 in Mt Vernon, Knox, OH. It is believed that both James Secord and Mary Ann Charmin are both buried in the Mt Vernon, OH area. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows about the Canadian roots of this family. Thank you very much.

Very Sincerely, Robert Barber
