There were many Secords who originated from the Niagara Ontario District and settled later in Haldimand/Norfolk/Elgin/Middlesex Counties. The Secords originated from Ambroise Sicard of New Rochelle New York. The Canadian Heroine Laura Ingersol's husband James was one of the Niagara Secords. There is a good possibility your James came from one of these areas. I decend from Ambroise and have found other family member movements along the same areas.
