I found my ancestor on the 1851 census of Ontario, Lincoln County, Niagara along with his wife; Mary Ann Secord and Sarah Secord (their daughter). Mary Ann was married before and had two sons from the previous marriage. They are listed also as William and Samuel (HORN).
James was born in Canada - 1794
Mary Ann was born England- 1805
Sarah Ann was born Canada- 1850
William Horn born England- 1841
Samuel Horn born England - 1845
There is another Secord family living next door. They are;
Charles B. Secord (Lawyer) Born Canada (age 43)
Margaret Secord " " (age 43)
Charles F. Secord (School Teacher " (age 19)
James Secord " " (age 15)
Alicia/Alice Secord " " (age 13)
I have never done research in Canada and would appreciate a suggestion on my next step. I am trying to determine the parents of James Secord (age 58) on the 1851 canada census.
