This does appear to be him. I can see no reason to doubt the Census information. The draft data is correct. Except the date I had been given must be incorrect. My father was never talkative. No matter how much I tried.
Could you help me decipher the Census line? After his birth date and place, shows "At home." Which is understandable for a child, But then "IL CAN.?" Illinois and Canada?
Yes. He was married before Katherine/Kate. Who BTW was known in later years as Kay. So I really should gather what I can find in regard to that family line. I've only a little. And it's quite sketchy.
Believe I have seen Samuel Secrest mentioned elsewhere? This board? A family connection to Switzerland?
