Levi Sedbruck
My great grandfather's name was Levi Monday Sedbruck. Hewas born in Wisconsin. The story from my grandmother (Pearl) was that Levi's parents died when he was a young teen. The family farm in Wisconsin was sold and he moved to Colorado with some of his brothers (Barney and Wilbur). Levi's first wife's name was Helen Stroge. They had two children. Albert Arthur Sedbruck and an unnamed child who died shortly after he was born. Levi's son Albert, died at age 18 from a flu epidemic in 1918. My understanding is that Levi's first wife Helen died. I have no record of her date of death. Levi married Edith May Kulp. This was the second marriage for Edith too. Levi and Edith had two children, Pearl, born January 6, 1909 and Ruby, born in 1910. Edith had a daughter from her previous marrgiage by the name of Johnetta Fletcher (her maiden name). Edith died when my grandmother (Pearl) was about two or three years old. After her death, Johnetta went to live with Bessie (Elizabeth). Bessie was Edith's mother and the grandmother of Pearl, Ruby and Johnetta. I don't know too much about Bessie (Elizabeth) other than the fact that her mother came from Indiana and that she also was married twice. The first marriage was to a man named Kulp (he was an American Indian, maybe Osage?) and the second marriage was to a man named Cleavenger. Levi Sebruck died in 1950 and is buried in the Faremont Cemetary in Denver, Colorado. His wife Edith is buried there too.
