My name is Joseph K. Segers, and I live in North Alabama. I have been working on my tree, and so far, I have gotten back to my Great Great Great Grandfather, Randle Segers(Sigars). He lived in Cherokee Co, GA and was on the 1850 Census. He had 7 kids, with my G G Grandfather George P. Segers, who served in the Civil War and then moved to Marshall CO.(Guntersville) AL. I have talked to some of the few relatives that are still living, and they told me that they remember that there were 2 brothers that moved here from Germany, whose names were Seger and one moved up North to Chicago and the other stayed down south and added the S on the end of the name. They were both doctors. I hope this helps someone, and if anyone knows anything that can help me would be appreciated.
