Seidlers of Prenzlau, Brandenburg 1840's & up

Just starting back into my Seidler line after nearly 16yrs of no research.

Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Seidler b. 5 June 1844 bapt. 16 June 1844 in Prenzlau, Brandenburg, at Sankt Sabinen Lutheran Kirche. Son of Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Seidler, a carriage builder, and Friederike Louise Marie Weidemann.

Many years ago I checked the church records in hopes of finding his parents marriage & to see if he had any siblings-No luck. All I found was Carl's baptism and later another Seidler marriage that I cannot fit in. Bertha Auguste Seidler who married Johann Heinrich Buendiger 5 Jan. 1864 at Sankt Sabinen Lutheran Kirche, Prenzlau, Brandenburg.

Family tradition goes- Carl and his wife knew each other in Germany-possibly even marrying in Germany but taking different ships to reach USA.

This belief comes about due to them living so close to each other in Germany & due to fact nearly 5-1/2 months after she arrives her & Carl marry. Also the fact both of Emilies daughters indicate Carl as their father.

His wife Emilie Johanne Friederike Gipp b. March 20, 1841 Kraatz, immigrated on board the "Johannes" arriving in NY on 21 July 1868 with her mother, sister, another sister and her husband and their 1 yr old daughter -Emilies daughter aged 5 and another one on the way.

Both girls per death certificates and per 1 marriage certificate indicate Carl as the Father. Which is why we are questioning why did Emilie and her daughter carry the Gipp surname coming from Kraatz/Craatz which is quite close to Prenzlau?

Why did Carl and Emile then marry on Jan 3, 1869 in T of Washington, Shawano County? Were they engaged in Germany but decided to wait & marry in USA? Are the 2 girls Carl's or are they not his?

I have these and more unanswered questions.

Any help is much appreciated. Would like to find his siblings-if he had any..
Very willing to share the little bits of info I have on my Seidlers.

Thank you,
