Hi. Lanora was my grandmother. She passed away a few years ago. She always said RB was her favorite brother. Growing up they didn't have much and as a young adult still living at home helping to care for all the kids, she said RB would buy her things she needed. She said he was always good to her. She also said that her husband Lee Johnson became good friends with RB as well.
There is a story she liked to tell that involved RB. Shortly after their mother died their father took them to live with his parents so he could work. There was a pond or creek close to the house. Lanora and Alvis (their uncle who was close in age to Lanora wanted to go play in the water. Isadora (the grandmother) said they could but not to take RB. Well as little kids are want to do, RB followed them out there and got wet. When they all got back to the house, Lanora and Alvis got a spanking for letting RB play in the water. RB turned his backside to Isadora and said, "grandma let me see how that feels". Lanora said Isadora just got so tickled by that and laughed and laughed.
A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to meet your son (I assume) when he came out to check on a false 911 call at my cousin's house (it must have been from the cat since no one was home at the time).
I have some pictures of the family and family trees that others have been nice enough to share with me that I can share with you as well. You have a huge family. RBs mother's mother was one of 19 kids. And that is just one side of the family.
