Adam,

Sorry, I can not be of specific help to you on your Adam Siepel line. Do not let the spelling fool you. You are probably descended from the Seibel/Seybel German lines of western Germany, specifically in towns around the the Rhine River. My ancestors came from Rheindurkheim, just north of Worms. The Seibels that came in the 1700s were from either present day Hessen or the Rheinpfaltz. Migrating from there to the Berlin area is certainly probable.

I am one of the reseachers that contributed to the web site you mentioned. Three of us have Seipel/Seiple/Siple last names and do pronounce them with the long "i" sound. Often, I am corrected by strangers and I ask them how to pronounce "bible!"

Good luck in your research!

Roy Siple
