Tabernacle Methodist Church, Washington County, GA
The meeting at Tabernacle in March was fabulous. In spite of torrential rains, the schoolhouse at Tabernacle was packed! So many people came to share pictures and information about loved ones who were buried at Tabernacle and/or lived in the community. We were constantly busy getting information but not so much that we didn’t have fun visiting with people and sharing the research.
Since March, we have found records that indicate over 50 more people than we had on our original list are buried at Tabernacle.Along with the original 60plus folks that are identified as “Unmarked” you can see that we need more research. However, we cannot identify the exact burial places of people we find without the help of their families. Our current count of graves at Tabernacle is well over 300.
June 6, 2009 from 10 a.m. until4 p.m. we will be at the Deepstep Community Center in Deepstep, GA.We will also be Tabernacle on Hwy 24 west of Sandersville In Washington County, GA on Sunday, June 7 from 2 until 6 p.m. to meet with people and gather information.
Bring your family photos, obituaries and family information and join us on one or BOTH of these days.
We would like to have this book ready for sale in October, so timing is critical. Our wish is to have everybody listed.
