Do you have info on the father of your Henry Sellers who died in Greene County, Ohio in 1829?Any idea what his name was?
Your Henry Sellers is as far back as anyone has been able to go, which has helped spur the debate over exactly who he was and from whom he descended. No one seems to know who HIS father was.
As I said earlier, I descend from Heinrich Zeller (Henry Sellers, 1704-1775) and from his son, Adam (1742-1821).Adam moved to Warren County, Ohio circa 1807 in the Clear Creek Township. His brother, John Sellers, had 4 sons ... Jacob, Daniel, John Jr, and Henry.Jacob went to Ohio in 1797, and Henry followed him to Preble County Ohio circa 1804.As part of John Sellers' will, he agreed to pay Henry an additional 40 pounds since Henry complained he wasn't getting as much as his 3 brothers.John agreed to pay it provided Henry leave the county (Rockingham) prior to John's death, which he did.Henry died intestate in Preble County in 1820 leaving about 11 underage children in need of guardianship.
The 1820 Preble County Henry and your 1829 Greene County Henry have often been confused within my family lines.I'm really hoping to somehow someday figure out exactly who your Henry descends from!
