Michael SELLERS - Rozannah SPEARS m. 4 Sept 1780, VA

I am transcribing the diaries of my 6th Great Grandfather, Rev. Oliver HART and on Monday Sept 4, 1780 he wrote:

"This Morning, at Col. Smith's I married Michael SELLERS to Rozannah SPEARS, who had been living together perhaps 13 years, & had 5 or 6 Children. They are Dutch People. The old man gave me 50 Dollars for making him [honest.]"

Col. Smith lived in the proximity of Linville Creek Meeting house and Mossy Creek Meeting house, as HART is staying there in order to be close to these two churches (primarily Lineville, in Rockingham County, VA.)

Oliver HART's papers are held at the South Carolinaiana Library at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC.

Hope this is of some interest, it is all the information I have.
