It would be very exciting if I finally found some of my SELLERS family!
My greatgrandfather was William Harvey SELLERS. He was born in Gibson Co.TN on 29 Sep. 1827. He was the oldest child of Robert SELLERS and Rebecca FLETCHER. A few years after his birth the family moved to TX. The father died soon after they reached TX. William had at least 2 brothers, one named John S. and the other was Finnis. He also had some sisters, but unfortunately I do not know their names. William married Harriet Sophronia CONE 11 June 1853, in Houston,Harris Co.TX. William died in Galveston TX 10 Apr. 1874. His obituary mentions visitation would be at the home of his brother John S. SELLERS. At that time William's wife was living in Lexington, VA with their four children. The two boys were in school there at Washington College where Robert E. LEE was the President of the school. It is now known as Washington & Lee. William served in three wars. The TX Revolution, the War with Mexico, and the Civil war. William's children were Robert Henry SELLERS, Cornelia Lilly SELLERS, Harriet Rosa SELLERS and my grandfather, Harvey Lee SELLERS. I would love to have contact with any one who thinks we might be related.
