Chastains in Second Seminole War

From the Indian Wars pension papers for one of my husband's ancestors, Samuel Morgan, we learn that Samuel Morgan enlisted on Oct. 1, 1837 and served in Capt. John B. Chastain's Company, commanded by E.W. Chastain as a part of the Georgia Mountain Volunteers (1st Regiment). It so happens that John Bunyan Chastain and Elijah Webb Chastain were brothers and were related to his wife, Hannah Nicholson. Hannah's mother was Mary "Polly" Chastain, daughter of Edward Brigand Chastain. Edward Brigand Chastain was a brother of a Benjamin Chastain. John Bunyan and Elijah Webb "Lige" were two sons of this Benjamin Chastain. I think that this was the Benjamin Chastain, upon whose land was one of the stations along the Trail of Tears. But the first reference to a post here on Benjamin Chastain's property was in May 1838. If Benjamin's sons were listed as commanding soldiers then perhaps this post was being used as early as October 1, 1837 already, or else these Chastain brothers may have first been fighting elsewhere?? I don't think there are any records of much for this post at Chastain's, but if anyone runs across information about this Chastain fort or any of these Chastain names, please let me know. We are told from Samuel Morgan's Indian Wars pension papers that he originally enlisted for 12 months, but served only 7 months and was honorably discharged on May 7, 1838 in Campbell, Gates, Georgia. So, this makes me wonder if these Georgia Mountain volunteers (1st regiment) were fighting elsewhere first? Has anyone read more about this 1st regiment of Georgia Mountain volunteers??
