Cyprian Peter Sanasac was born on May 13, 1823 and died on October 5, 1900 at the age of 77. Cyprian Peter and Julia Giboleau had 6 children with one of them my great-grandfather Joseph Eli Sanasac. Joseph was born on December 15, 1857 in Kankakee County, Illinois, and died on October 26, 1922 in Newberg, OR at the age of 64 and was buried on November 1, 1922 in Rose City Cemetery, Multnomah County, Portland, Oregon. This information is from his family bible, the cemetery and family info. Joseph married whose first wife died leaving him with a daughter Minnie. He then remarried Marian Baxter, daughter of John Baxter and Ann Eliza Bullis on March 13, 1866 in Mankato, Minnesota.

Joseph and Marian had ten children, most of whom were born in Janesville, Minnesota with one born in Mapleton, Minnesota, my grandmother Hattie Aurilla Sanasac.

Joseph Eli's siblings included David F. Sanasac, b. 1863; Mary Sanasac, b. 1859; John Sanasac; Edward Sanasac, b. 1855; and Cyprien Pierre Sanasac b. April 10, 1846 and d. March 27, 1927 at the age of 80.

Joseph and Marian left Minnesota during the free land grant in Montana and settled in Jordan, Montana. They did find, but after a few years of hard winters, most residents in Jordan made their way to Oregon, Washington and California.
