My grandmother was Mamie (Mary) Seng Schott and her sister was Lou (Louise) Seng Schott. The 2 sister married brothers. Lou married Will and Mamie married Charles Wm Schott, my grandfather. As a kid, (I'm 68 now) I remember a portrait g.m. had of Kilian Seng. He was posed much like a picture of Napaleon, in full uniform and chapeau, sword and all and with his hand slid into his jacket. As a little boy I was much impressed. They said he was a Field Marshall in the Prussian Army and he was their grandfather. There is a family plot in Eastern Cemetery in Louisville where he is buried. It has a 10 to 15 feet high limestone memorial in German. It is very hard to read now, but the birth is Munich Germany Aug 1808 and death 9 Feb 187(8) and his wife is Elisabetha den 10 Juni 1810 d 10 Oct 1871. It does not mention her place of birth, but I believe dad said it was Weis-Baden Germany. A daughter Margaret b 1839 d 12-9-1881. There are more Sengs buried in Cave Hill Cemetary adjacent to Eastern including more Kilians. I remember back around 1950 we went to Florida and dad stopped and visited one of his uncle's, g.m. brother, and I think his name was Nicholas. They lived outside Clearwater at Altures, FL. Some of the other Sengs buried in Cave Hill are, John, Theodore G, Arthur K, and Henry and Kilian. Hope this helps. I will try to look into the cemetary records at Cave Hill. Eastern is no longer maintained and is in very bad condition.
