Origin of Seng family name

We've been wondering what the name Seng means and is it a shortened form of an originally longer German name. Does anyone in this forum know? We've got a hunch that in Danish it might mean bed. The orginal longer name might have been Sengestoken. My relatives came from Northern Germany, close to Denmark, in 1838.
Thanks, Richard Seng
