Note:This family was in Zakrowek, southeast Poland and is the Serwacki family that settled in western New York near Buffalo.Study of maps from 1880-1920 do not support that Zakrowek was ever actually in Galicia, but was not far from Galicia's northern borders. When I visited descendants of this family in Zakrowek, Poland in 1996, the oldest living aunt at that time, Appolonia, talked about the Serwacki [pronounced "Ser-wats-key"] family at Nisko as possibly distantly related--and that there were so few Serwackis.Appolonia knew that a Serwacki had once been mayor of Nisko in the 1890s [something I had learned at the Archives in Warsaw].For about 40 or so years, Nisko was the northern edge of Galicia--until just after WWI (about 1919-1920 when it went back to Poland).
I would be interested in learning more details on each of the children of this family in Poland--especially the two oldest sons--Jozef and Edward.
