Alan: I just researched the names Hovsep and Aviet to find that they are very much Armenian names. Bingo. I know for sure that my greatgrandfather was of Armenian descent. My uncle claims just the Armenian link but my father told me as a child, long before I knew anything about Jews, [in a place like Guyane] that he was of Armenian Jewish descent. Anyway we look at this, the heritage seems to be the same. Joy
