I was curious about your post regarding the Sevigne connection to Charlemagne. Although not documented, our Sevene family lore hinted that they were somehow connected to nobility. My source (Dictionnaire Genalogique des Familles du Quebec [Jette]) lists Gilles and Gillette de Foy as the parents of Sevigny (de) dit Lafleur, Julien-Charles. No marriage date; however, it says Julien was 27 ans en 1695, making his birth date around 1668, fitting in the time frame of his parents marriage in 1663. What was the source of your relative's baptismal record for Gilles (b. 1636)? Oh, it appears my husband is descended from Julien-Charles, to Antoine, to Joseph, to Pierre, to Pierre, etc.
