Two obits

These were published in The Standard-Times, New Bedford, MA. This appears to be a husband and wife. Our family has no connection to this couple...at least I don't think so!

NEW BEDFORD -- Norma M. (Sevigny) Silva, 80, of New Bedford died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at The Oaks. She was the widow of Albert A. Silva.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Irene (McMahon) and J. Omer Sevigny. She lived in Dartmouth most of her life; she resided in New Bedford since 1990. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in South Dartmouth.
She graduated from New Bedford High School and Campbell Secretarial School.
She was an administrative assistant to the chief probation officer at 3rd District Court for 30 years until she retired.
Mrs. Silva was a member of the Catholic Women's Club and the Quota Club; she was a member and former president of St. Mary's Ladies Guild.
Survivors include a daughter, Roberta K. Harrison of New Bedford; a son, Mark S. Silva of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; a son-in-law, John Harrison III of New Bedford; a sister, Roberta Janet Soares of LaMesa, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St.

ALBERT A. SILVA, 92
NEW BEDFORD -- Albert A. Silva, 92, of New Bedford died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility. He was the husband of Norma M. (Sevigny) Silva.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Antonio and Mary (Medeiros) Silva, he resided in Dartmouth for most of his life before returning to the city in 1990.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth.
Mr. Silva was an insurance adjuster for Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. for 30 years until retiring. He graduated from Dartmouth High School, Hebron Academy and New Bedford Textile Institute. He attended Boston University.
He was a former member of the Country Club of New Bedford and the Southeastern Massachusetts Claims Managers Association. He was a charter member and former president of the Dartmouth Lions Club.
During World War II, Mr. Silva served in the Army Air Force in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Campaign, Philippine Liberation and American Theater Campaign Ribbons and the Good Conduct and World War II Victory Medals.
Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Roberta K. Harrison and her husband, John, of New Bedford; a son, Mark S. Silva and his wife, Diane Fitzpatrick, of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, John Harrison IV and Alexander P. Harrison; and an aunt, Olive Goulart of New Bedford.
His funeral will be 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., with a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth, at 10. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
