I am in need of some educating here. I, too, have SEVIGNY who were DIT LAFLEUR. I have not found a LAFLEUR connection (ie; mothers maiden name, etc.)to explain this odd occurence. In my particular branch this DIT LAFLEUR appeared out of nowhere with no conceivable or recognizable justification.
Would somebody be willing to please take a moment and discuss this topic here? Why and how did these DIT names originate?
