I have only what the records show, most of which you know already.

All I can add is that James married Mary J. Veazie somewhere in Penobscot County 16 April 1848 (county marriage records cited in the IGI). Intentions were recorded at Corinna 23 March 1848, both of Corinna (VRs).

I wonder whether Charles E. Sewall of Denver in the 1900 census is the son of James seen in the 1850 census.
