Scotch branch of Seys family?

One of my 3rd great grandparents was a woman named Margaret Seys. She was born in the late 1700s or early 1800s and family rumor has it that she was of Scotch origin(all my other known ancestors appear to be solidly Irish). She married a man named McGuire and they had at least one child who was named Bridget Seys McGuire.

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
