Thanks for the reply, Judith. I'm pretty sure the name was "Seys" because she and a man named McGuire had a daughter called Bridget Seys McGuire. Whether she came from the Welsh "Sais/Seys" line or the continental flemish/belgian "Seyses" I have no idea.
