Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Jane Seys, Gloucester, UK
Posted by: Edward Hayward (ID *****3902) Date: October 06, 2004 at 01:55:14
  of 118

Born circa 1830 in Tidenham, a village in Gloucestershire; her father was William Seys, a stonemason. She married Henry Hayward (my paternal great-grandfather) in December 1861, and had a son, Jesse Edwin, in October 1863; he was born at Popes Hill, East Dean, Gloucester. (Interestingly, her maiden surname on his birth certificate is shown as "Sais" - presumably a misspelling.) Jane remarried some time between 1864 and 1880, as the 1881 UK census shows her as the wife of Thomas Sheppard, a "railway labourer". Am trying to find out more about when she remarried, and also date and place of death.
