ENGLISH SHACKLEFORDS
Hi I haven't been on this forum for quite some time. I am researching Shacklefords in England and have got back to late 1700's with a direct lie to substantiated records -parish registers and certificates. I am wondering if anyone on list has done any research or know of anyone who has on the English ancestors. I checked out the site for Oscar Shackelford who was said to have information on William de Shackleford but it is no longer there. I do know he was in Shackleford around 1380.I have written to Oscar. I visited Shackleford in England this year, my parents still live in England my mother is a direct Shackleford, there aren't too many of them in England.I have done as much research as I could on on Baron Jacque le Forte, Shackleford itself mostly frm the local ghistory site, and Hall Place and Shackleford house and am happy to share if anyone is interested. There's not a wealth of information. The day I went for lunch at the Shacklefor pub they told me an American Shackleford has been there a day before, that was a pity I wasn't there the day before I might have met a possible distant cousin :-)Kiknd Regards Irene, Sydney Australia
