Hi,

I am looking for information on a Mary Shackleton, who according to the LDS IGI, married a Thomas Knapton in 1808 in Bradford, Yorkshire. I am not sure if Shackleton is her maiden or widowed name. I suspect that Thomas Knapton also remarried sometime between 1805 and 1810. My family belonged to the Queenshead General Baptist Church in Queenshead near Bradford, Yorkshire.

The QGB Church had a birth registration drive in 1837 that included individuals born during the period of 1780 to 1837. The Shackletons where I have found birth references include:

Samuel Shackleton married Mary Thomas
Children included:
William, b. 1829
Henry, b. 1831
Elizabeth, b. 1833
John, b. 1835

Jonathan Shackleton married Mary Bairstow
Children include:
Job, b. 1822
George, b. 1824
Jonathan, b. 1828
Absalom(sp?), b. 1831

Jonas Shackleton, married Martha(Matty) Robertshaw
Children include:
Elizabeth, b. 1825
Martha, b. 1827
Ann Robertshaw, b. 1833

John Shackleton married Martha Pollard
Children include:
Mary, b. 1827
Martha, b. 1829

I would be grateful for any information on the Mary Shackleton who married Thomas Knapton in 1808.

Thanks!
Alan Knapton
