I am keen to find family connections in South Africa and elsewhere in the world.I have a family tree stretching back to 1851, starting with Sanuel Shackleton who married Elizabeth Allen in that year.I have many names,although my grandfather only kept his line going.I was told by my grandfather that Sanuel came out with the 1820 settlers from England and settled in the Port Elizabeth. The family later moved to Durban.He also told me that Sir Ernest visited him as a small boy in Port Elizabeth when he was serving as an officer on the Union Castle lines.
