Hi Lea - I read your posting and have a similar challenge. My late uncle William Shackelton, unfortunately changed the spelling from "le", and his brother Freeman, my father (b. 1899) carried it on. I am Leland Shackelton (dob: 1929) and uncle Will. did a genealogy search and also claimed to trace to Sir Ernest. That paper is lost and I am looking for the same link. My grandfather was Elgin Elija Shackleton of Grand Rapids, Mich., and his father was a George Shackleton of somewhere in Canada. Any connections?

LEE
