More on Harry Shalett. The question was raised by Harry M. Shalett's religion. He did not bring his kids up Jewish. Harry M. became very active in the Shriners and the Masons, but not in what might be considered "organized religion." I believe that the movie "Hester Street" tells the story of Harry's arrival in the United States. He loved his new country and adapted his life to fit what he found. He did not hold on to traditions from the "old country."
