A sister of one of my Anecstors married A Shamp. John Mulhall's daughter Caroline Mulhall married E.T. Shamp or maybe C.T. Shamp. I do not know for sure if he was one of the 22 children of Jesse Shamp who was a farmer and weaver in Fairfield, Jefferson Co., Iowa or not but my Mulhall and Parkers lived there at this time. Some names taken from a book on Directory of Jefferson Co. Iowa has Jesse Shamp married Prudence Templeton and second time Mary J. Husted of Fairfield, Iowa, has 22 children- Thos. B., Hiram S., C. T., Harried J., Henry H., Mary H. Francis M. Margaret E., Amos R., Emeline S., Reason S., Chas. W., Anna P., Wm. W., Harry E., Dora B., Byron T., Benaton Co, and Sallie A.,;three children unnamed. Mr. Shamp has held various ofices of trust in the township, and at prsent is doing a good business weaving carpets,. Democrat. Sorry I forgot to write down ref.
