I know it has been several years since your request for information on Sarah Shannaberger but I hope to get in touch with you. My great-great-great-grandfather is Michael McCarty who married a Shanniberger. They had a son, James Henry McCarty, born 25 Nov 1833 in Fayette Co, Pa, died 22 Jul 1893. James married Elizabeth Schnatterly.
Michael McCarty was married a second time to Elizabeth Ross. I don't have dates on him or his wives. The spelling is a little different but it could be incorrect since we have only her last name.
Hope we are looking for the same tree limb.
