Are you in England?

Yes, Shapton is not a common name. On another genforum site a Shapton contacted me and he also was in England. Maybe ya'll are related.

The information about the Shapton family in America was found in a record of early wills in Virginia. The will of Augustine Pettus in 1669, in York County, Virginia, mentions Augustine's cousins Hannah, Abraham, Judith and Anne Shapton. It also mentions John Gallant as a cousin. John Gallant's parents were Gload and Barbary Gallant. Perhaps Barbary was either a Pettus or a Shapton.

Gallant is also an uncommon name, at least here. Do you know of any Gallants' in England?
