Hi - My cousins and I are building up our family tree and already have substantial information about the Sheddens - however, only from Alexander Hall Shedden down - he is our great great grandfather too!Actually I have fairly strong information that he was actually born in 1813, in Sydney, and married Catherine (not Margaret) Graham (born 1828 in Sydney) in 1847.She was the daughter of Captain Graham of the 12th Hussars Horse Cavalry Regiment. They went on to have 11 children and lived in Trivandrum, South India. Our great grandfather was Charles Edward Shedden, who ran away from his parents in 1872 and went to work on the Tea Estates in Ceylon.Alexander Hall died in September 1878, in India, at the age of 65.Catherine died at the age of 52 in August 1880.I picked up on the Shedden family tree posted by McSkimming.org.uk but Alexander and Catherine's childrens names are slightly different (though similar enough to make a strong case that it is the same family branch)according to my information, though the Mcskimming site has much more detail regarding dates. My information came from a little book of family details kept by my grandfather, James Robert Shedden, who was the son of Charles Edward.I'm fascinated that you have some information on William.
