My grandmother Sarah M Shehane born Dec. 28, 1862 in Indian Land, Lancaster Co., S.C. She was the daughter of
James B. Shehane born 1837 in Lancaster Co., S.C. Her mother was Elizabeth Bennett. Her parents names are on her death certificate. Thats as far as I have gotten.
Need to go to the S.C. State Archives and see what records they have. Have made a request of them but it will be from 2 to 4 weeks before I get an answer.

Just went over the Shehanes on Rootsweb.I wouldn't know who is right on those web pages. They got Mary Steele married to Daniel Cedrick Shehane both born in Ireland,to
Daniel Frederick Shehane born in Lancaster, S.C. and Mary in Barbour, Ala.Total mix up. I have spentlong hours in court house getting official records. Too from the National and N.C. State Archives. I have confirmed my Finley lineage back in to Scotland. This is what needs to be done for the Shehanes. Can't do that much any more. Under care of my cardiologist.I will make written request tho.
Talk to you when I get back from the library tomorrow or Tuesday. Have to go to Rock Hill, S.C. to get new glasses and the library is near.
Bob Finley, Sr.
