Shelnutt Book of Records
Posted by: Carol Date: February 13, 2002 at 15:06:38

Nathaniel Shelnutt founded the town of Bowden, Georgia. In my Christian family research, I discovered that there is no book about him, and am hoping to gather enough info to do a at least a booklet. I read somewhere that he had written a family history, but no one in Bowdon seems to know anything about it.

Is the book of records something that one can find?

The ca 1855 home of NS has been restored by Bowdon Historical Society and as far as I could find out, they have nothing of his nor any real inof on him. The details in the Court house and in the history of the area are scarce.I think they should have a copy of the book. Also, is there a photo of he and his wife, Lucy Jane Christian anywhere?

Thanks.
