Thank you for your input.Could your Dr. Wm. A. Nelson be one of John S. and Nancy Irby's grandchildren? I've come across alot of your postings in my research for my Shelton. My Nelson g.grandfather was a William Columbus Nelsonborn abt. 1851. I do know that I have a surname match for a Mary Shelton who md. Thomas K.Napier in middle 1800s in Tn. But I haven't seen anything about who her Sheltons were. I also think I have a match for a Margaret Minyard born in Tn. who md.a Shelton , had 2 children by the Shelton in Clark., Ark. then by 1870 she was a single parent home for her Shelton children and two other young males a Minyard and a B.B.Price. In 1880 she md. a George Deets from Ga.She was living between some Shaws from Ga. and several homes further down was my Nelson g.g.uncle who also md. a Shaw from Ga. I also am related to some Prices. I have a Irby surname match to a Jeptha Irby from Tn. All these were early to middle 1800s in Tn. I believe that your Gabriel Shelton md. to Elizabeth Shepherd (correct?) is related to my Shelton as, several of that Shelton line lived in Lincoln Co.,N.C. and that is where my John Nelson lived also who md. my Shelton. They were my g.g.grandparents. Any info you can supply or find would be greatly appreciated.
