My gr X3 grandparents George A. and Jane (Johnston) Shelton were from Virginia and were married there in 1820. They moved to Fayette Co. Alabama about 1824. Their first child was named Elizabeth C. Shelton, born 14 Feb, 1821 but the date of her death in the Shelton Bible is 20 Sep. 1821 .. only 8 months old. They named another daughter Elizabeth Jane Shelton b. 24 June, 1827. She married Elijah N. South.
