Jacob Sherer, brother of John, son of Abraham and Ann (Annally), d. 15 Feb. 1853 -- during the period when counties were required to keep death registries. According to his listing on p. 57 of the Lancaster County Death Registry, he was married "Anna Maria." There is no record of Catharine Wilhelm. Jacob's children were Jacob M. Sherer, no dates, and Ann Sherer, b. c. 1809, d. bet. 1870-1880. In the 1850 census, the elder Jacob was living in Lancaster with daughter Ann and her husband, John H. Duchman, in a hotel they operated.
I wonder if you are looking for Jacob Sharrer, b.c. 1744. He was a half-brother of Abraham and lived in Rapho Twp. I don't have any additional information on his dates, spouse, children, etc. I've sent a note to some other Sherer researchers to see if they have anything.
While I'm at it, I should update the information on my earlier post, which was written in 2003. Since then, I've found that John didn't die in 1794; that mistake came as a result of misreading a petition filed by John's son, Abraham, in 1816. John d. in Apr 1802. He was married to Elizabeth Ebersole, who d. in 1857. Sorry for the earlier misinformation.
Good luck with your searches. If I find out any more about Jacob m. Catharine Wilhelm, I'll let you know.
